Regions

The World Bank organizes countries into seven geographical and economic regions. Select a region to explore aggregate data and country comparisons.

About World Bank regions: These regional groupings are used by the World Bank for analytical and operational purposes. They group countries that share geographic proximity and often face similar development challenges. Each region contains countries across a range of income levels — the World Bank separately tracks income groups (Low, Lower-Middle, Upper-Middle, High) which cut across regions.
